UCPath is the University of California's priority program to implement a comprehensive payroll, benefits, human resources and academic personnel solution for all UC employees.


Conference Room Pilots in a workshop

Conference Room Pilots

Representatives from campus and the Medical Center have been participating in Conference Room Pilots (CRP) held in Oakland and by Zoom on campus. In these sessions, specific aspects of UCPath are discussed and functionality demonstrated in the system. This has been a great opportunity for the team to see UCPath and understand how the system processes certain transactions.

CRP sessions addressed the following topics:

  • New Employee and Manager Self-service Portals
  • Approval Workflow Engine and System Access
  • Position Management
  • New Hire/Transfers/Terminations
  • Data Changes and Job Earnings Distributions
  • Final Pay/Off Cycle Checks and Voluntary Deductions
  • Leave Administration/Accruals and One-Time and additional recurring Pay
  • Mass Pay Changes
  • Funding, Salary Cost Transfers, Labor Ledger
  • Work Study, Fiscal Year-end, and Benefits Rates
  • Budget/Staffing
  • Talent Acquisition Management (Greentree replacement)
  • Benefits and ePerformance(represented employees)

The group that participated in Oakland was able to enter sample transactions into the UCPath testing environment and appreciated the first opportunity to interact with the system and ask questions. Attendees in the sessions included individuals previously involved with the UCPath Project in reviewing business processes and will be involved in testing and training as the project moves forward.


Matt Levin

Anteater Reports Expert

Matt Levin entered UCI as an undergrad in fall of 2012, studying Business Information Management, and in April of 2013, he joined OIT’s Data Warehouse team as a student intern. His main focus was Cognos Report Development for the Kuali Financial System (KFS) project. Matt worked throughout college and graduated in March of 2016. After graduation, he was offered a full-time position in OIT.

Later that year, Matt transitioned from doing report development for KFS to developing for the UCPath Project. His responsibilities are primarily around all things reporting. He is responsible for creating and maintaining framework packages for reporting as well as to create and maintain Decision Support reports for UCPath. Additionally, he helps support Tier-n API development, when needed. Along with Amy Ruth, reporting lead, Matt is a key member in gathering and analyzing any reports needed for UCPath go-live. Together, they have reporting workgroup meetings every Wednesday from 10-noon where they provide background information and demonstrations of 2 or more prototype reports that will be produced.

When Matt is not at work, there is a good chance you can find him at a baseball or softball field. He is a HUGE Angels fan and attends at least 20 games per year. When not watching games, he is often playing slow-pitch softball, now that his baseball playing days are behind him. In any given week, he plays somewhere between 1- 4 days and 1-15 games per week. He and his girlfriend, Hailey, both love baseball and traveling. Their goal is to visit all 30 MLB stadiums together! They can currently check 5 off the list (Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Petco Park in San Diego, Dodger Stadium in LA, AT&T Park in San Francisco, and Coors Field in Denver, Colorado).

Self service portal video

UCPath Employee Self Service Portal Video

UCPath will include a new employee self-service portal which will replace the current At Your Service Online (AYSO) portal for various actions including viewing paychecks and updating addresses. AYSO will remain live for viewing retirement information once UCPath is fully deployed

A demo video was created by the UCOP portal technical development team to show some of the main featured components on the portal. This portal preview is not intended to be training and does not show all of the features in the portal. This video provides a first look at the new employee self-service functionality.
